Karon Viewpoint is located on the border of the Rawai district and Karon, and on Karon is the Kata district. So, to get to this viewpoint you need to go either from the south, from Rawai, or from Kata.
The road is a mountain pass, twisted into a small serpentine asphalt road, passing through the jungle. Man has long set foot on these trails, so cafes and restaurants with panoramic views are not uncommon.
From viewpoint you can see three beaches of the west coast of Phuket: Kata Noi, Kata and Karon.
Viewpoint is marked by a characteristic tower where I was lucky enough to wait out for the rain. At the time when lightning was fired into the ocean and deafening thunder rolled. Definitely, this is a more impressive sight than a beautiful view on a typical sunny day, which dazzles on postcards “I Love Phuket”.
On the Rawai-Kata Pass lies a treasure trove of various activities: Elephant walk through the jungle; Quadra cycle riding; Small contact zoo; Panoramic restaurants and bars; etc.
Karon Viewpoint – one more opportunity to see beauty of Phuket
Viewpoint (Karon) is an observation deck in the south-western part of the island of Phuket, belongs to Rawai district. A visit to this place is included in all the sightseeing tours of Phuket. But if you decided to get there by yourself, you have to go along the west coast. Karon is viewpoint located between Nai Harn and Kata Noi beaches.
The observation deck itself is a gazebo with a small garden on the hill, from which a beautiful view of the Karon area and its three beaches: Kata Noi, Kata and Karon (from the bottom up).
Beside you can notice enough space for auto and bike parking, also there is a public WC. The largest number of people here in the period from 10 to 12 AM, this time, when the sightseeing minibuses bring tourists to be photographed.
The name of Karon Viewpont of the observation deck got recently, before it called Kata Viewpoint, because it’s located on Kata hill, that’s why if you were in Phuket until 2014 year and you couldn’t find the observations deck Kata, you should know – it was Karon Viewpoint.
