Promthep Cape is considered as one of the most photographed places in Phuket. It’s hard to believe but the image of the cape is found perhaps in all the guides to Phuket and even Asia.
Classic view on the cape usually from the coast but I made some pictures from another side (from the air), not classical view. However, this is Promthep Cape and view on the Rawai district.
Promthep is the southernmost tip in Phuket. The cape is a tourist attraction, and souvenir markets, restaurants, cafes are located here, as well as a lighthouse and a sacred structure to the Thai angel Pra-Prom, surrounded by hundreds or thousands of figures of elephants and horses.
What to do on Promthep Cape in Rawai
From the cape you can see Nai Harn beach, there is a viewing restaurant. The most popular time for visiting is when it sunset. But in truth, it’s better to come at 5 o’clock to visit a small museum, before the sun sets. As they say sunsets never repeats that’s why you can stare at this eternally.
On the souvenir market, which is located along the parking lots, you can buy everything that an ordinary tourist needs. There are Thai souvenir figurines, local manufacturers’ clothes, shawls, shorts, slippers, T-shirts with all kinds of inscriptions. Also here you can have some snacks, here is some cafes, restaurants, just a bench with fruits, coconuts and boiled corn. If you have already seen enough of sunsets, but forgot to buy souvenirs, you can come and do it. Despite on that fact that Promthep is a pretty popular place to visit, there are a lot of space where you can sit or just to stay alone.
Unfortunately, the words do not describe the beauty of this viewpoint. It is worth seeing in live and enjoy the views in full.
